A View of the Library When It Was The High School

Hennessey is an historic town, birthed in whirling dust and the reckless dash for land. That desperate courage is the legacy of every grandchild and great-grandchild of those determined pioneers, and the library has been charged with the responsibility of preserving their heritage. This charge places the library in a unique position. Not only do we embrace the traditional mission of a library, to provide free access to current information, but we also archive and preserve the history of this area, trying to insure that the historic events of national significance that took place here are remembered in the words and pictures of the people who lived them.  Those who came before us sacrificed so much to make a place for us; it is our responsibility to remember and follow their living example.

History is at home in Hennessey.
