Shelf of Books In The Oklahoma Nonfiction Collection

Oklahoma and regional history has a special place at the library. Authors, scholars, and history buffs reference the Oklahoma Collection for both research and light reading. There are over a thousand books about Oklahoma or by Oklahoma authors in the collection and new titles are chosen each year.  Of special interest are the compilations of remininscences of early pioneers in this land north of the Cimarron.  Both '89ers and settlers of the Cherokee Strip are represented in the collection as well as present day Oklahoma authors whose story-telling has taken a fictional turn.

Angie Debo had a special relationship with the Hennessey Library, and many of her books have inscriptions or autographs. Her books can be found in the Oklahoma Collection for check-out and also in the Heritage Collection for use in the library only.
